OUT OF AFRICA
I just had a most amazing experience that explains my long absence.
On Monday the 8th 2004, I got a call informing that my Nana had died. I rapidly made plans to fly to Africa to attend her funeral and in three days, I was on African soil.
My grandmother was 104 years old. Almost single-handedly, she raised 13 children through a nasty civil war and several famines.
The old lady was an icon of dignity, faith and poise. I will miss her.
My time in Africa was indescribable.
Awe, beauty, terror, hope, despair are all words that capture Africa's condition.
I will be posting more on this experience as the jet-lag wears off.
